Last night Ant, Ben, David and Steven took on the ultimate yearly challenge at the BCS Pub Quiz 2014. Under the team name “Still a Work In Progress”, they battled the other quiz pros to last position.
Honouring the Codify tradition of coming last with 95 points and taking home the wooden spoon, the guys didn’t disappoint. Although some plastic spoons seem to have worked their way in to said tradition.
Taking on each round with equal enthusiasm they managed to win the funniest answer, earning an additional chocolate reindeer. A worthy prize for answering Charlie Chaplin to the 10 questions in the Proper Charlies round.
They all brought their own specialist subject to the fore, but Ant surprised everyone when his musical knowledge allowed them to secure points for Take That’s Shine and Whigfield’s Saturday Night.
The usual picture round point scorer proved rather more difficult this year. Having to correctly identify an interior corridor of the music hall, the car park of the Aberdeen Dental School and one of the Welcome to Torry road signs, just proved a little too challenging.
The winning team may have gone home with some bottles of wine and 199 points but they didn’t get sweeties and spoons!
